It’s no secret that I love turmeric. I use it in my Cheesy Veggie Tofu Scramble, Turmeric Persimmon Nice Cream, my go-to Cheese Sauce, Fully Loaded Vegan Mac n’ Cheez, and even a Turmeric Face & Tooth Mask. It’s such a powerful antioxidant that consuming turmeric on a daily basis can aide the recovery of brain function and neurodegenerative diseases like Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s, lower blood sugar, curb depression, prevent heart disease, and prevent & treat cancer. No wonder it’s known as “Holy Powder” 🙏
Enter Golden Turmeric Milk. This creamy yellow liquid is a great way to incorporate turmeric into your day, especially if you like warm, cozy drinks ☕️🍵
I actually posted a slightly embarrassing recipe for Turmeric Milk over two years ago. It was one of my first recipes, when I was still sometimes using my phone to take photos for the blog! Check out my fancier, updated version of this drink and give it a try when you want something that is both healing and filling.
Ingredients You Will Need:
- 1 can of lite coconut milk (the full fat is waaay to rich for me)
- 1/2 cup of non-dairy milk (I used soy milk)
- 1 pinch of whole cloves
- 2 tsp ground turmeric (organic if you can)
- 1 generous pinch of ground nutmeg
- 1 generous pinch of ground allspice
- 1 pinch of coarse black pepper
- maple syrup or Stevia powder if sweetness is needed
- ground cinnamon or cinnamon sticks
What You Do:
- Heat the lite coconut milk, non-dairy milk, and cloves in a saucepan over medium-low heat.
- When the milk begins to simmer, whisk in the ground turmeric and turn down to low heat.
- Add the nutmeg, allspice, and black pepper and gently whisk.
- Taste the mixture and if it needs to be sweetened, add a splash of maple syrup or a small pinch of Stevia powder.
- Once your mixture reaches the desired temperature, pour into mug and top with a sprinkle of ground cinnamon or cinnamon stick and another pinch of black pepper.

This drink is a great coffee and tea substitute if you’re trying to cut back on caffeine, and mixing the turmeric with a fat like coconut milk helps the body to absorb it better so you get all those fantastic antioxidants!
Enjoy!
