Welcome to the final recipe of my RawSpiceBar recipe series! I may have saved the best for last, and I’m not saying that because it’s the recipe I created! If you’ve read the other recipes, you’ll remember one came from RawSpiceBar, one I modified from another food blogger and this one is created by moi! Looking at these photos right now as I work on this post is making me oh so hungry. I’m at the library eating donuts (true story) but I would much rather be eating this German Sausage & Potato Skillet! 🍽
This was my favorite RawSpiceBar combo -caraway, fennel and anise – and it went perfectly with the kielbasa sausage, smoky potatoes and crispy onions. This recipe is filling enough to be the main dish but not so overwhelming that it can’t be a side dish. It’s hearty and flavorful and super easy to whip up. It may be one of the easiest recipes I’ve ever posted. Check it out!
Ingredients You Will Need:
- 1-2 tsp RawSpiceBar’s Caraway, Fennel & Anise Bread (this is a spice blend but you can also use each spice on it’s own)
- 5 small red potatoes, cubed
- 2 thin slices of yellow onion
- 2 links of Tofurky Kielbasa Sausage, sliced into small rounds
- extra virgin olive oil
- salt
- optional: garlic powder
2 Simple Steps:
- Heat oil in a skillet on medium low. Saute the potatoes until fork tender, about 15 minutes or so.
- Cut the onion slices in half and add to skillet. Once they begin to brown add the sausage, spices, salt and a little garlic powder. Cook another 5-10 minutes to let everything heat up together, adding water if mixture gets dry.
This dish is delicious on it’s own thanks to the spices but you can also serve it with your favorite sauce, or keeping with the German theme, some sauerkraut! The caraway, fennel and anise flavors really stand out but aren’t overwhelming and everything just tastes perfecto 👌 Store any leftovers in a sealed container in the fridge.

Easy, right? I think it’s a great recipe if you’re a busy mom or you work all day, and you want to come home and have something that’s simple to make for dinner. Or maybe you want a filling recipe that you can stock up on at the beginning of the week and throw in containers to take to work with you. Either way, this is your recipe!
