I spent most afternoons this past summer walking barefoot through the botanical gardens in Beaumont, Texas π£πΊππ΄ It was never crowded and many times I was the only person there. The botanical gardens are tucked away in the expansive Tyrrell Park in southern Beaumont. The outside gardens, pictured here, are free and open from daylight till dark every day.
What are some perks of traversing these lovely grounds? For starters, there are wild bunnies hopping around ππ° I’ve also seen a raccoon on the trail as well as a pretty ginormous snake π There’s lots of cute lizards and butterflies and bees, and of course brightly colored flowers and fragrant roses.
I brought my camera along for my last couple of visits to the Beaumont Botanical Gardens. Here are my favorite pictures π·
The outsides gardens begin right next to the Warren Loose Conservatory, which is also free and open to visitors. The gardens start with brightly colored flowers, herbs, a fountain, and a secret garden area β¨
A curvy trail begins beyond this area, dark and green with spurts of color. There are placards with the names of the plants and benches placed in secluded corners where you can stop and sit.
As you round the last corner, you’ll see a grassy open area with a colorful maypole straight ahead and a gazebo behind it. You’ll see a statue of a woman, more trails on the right side, and a beautifully landscaped pond in the background.
This is where my shoes usually fly off to trot around on the thick green grass. Plus, it also helps me sneak up on the bunnies so I can get a closer look without scaring them off!
To the right is my favorite part of the gardens πΉπΉπΉ the Rose Garden! I love walking through and smelling all the beautiful roses. The multicolored and yellow roses are my favorite!
Eeeeee, I just love roses! They are one of my favorite flowers. As you exit the rose garden, you’ll see some palm trees on your left and straight ahead are two bundles of bright orange flowers that take you to another set of shady trails. There’s a small Japanese garden on the right, some gloriously colored flowers on the left as well as an ivy covered awning with benches inside.
You’ll curve around the last part of the trail that opens back up to the big grassy area where weddings are held. I actually happened upon a small wedding when I went, and you can see the rows of chairs and tents set up. π°
The Beaumont Botanical Gardens are an amazing place to go enjoy with your family, have a picnic with friends, or explore solo. The grounds are beautifully kept and every time that I visit I observe details I never noticed before.
In the coming weeks I’ll be posting Part 2, which includes photos of the Warren Loose Conservatory and the Cattail Marsh Wetlands Area, located in the same park πΈπΌππ

What a beautiful park! Makes me think that Eden may have been a similar looking place. Fantastic photos as usual. Too many to comment on. I particularly like the one with the two red roses the best though. Its simplicity and clarity are eye-catching. The park looks so nice and is so close. I simply must go some time. Thanks for the post.
Thank you Randy! The Beaumont botanical gardens are such a hidden gem. I went just a few days ago and the roses were in full bloom and so gorgeous!
