Banana Nice Cream has been a thing for a while, but I’m usually late to the party and this is no exception. I had a bunch of bananas sitting on my counter top that were about to go bad, and I refuse to waste food, so I needed to come up with a unique way to eat them. Then I remembered banana nice cream and decided to give it a try. Fast forward a few hours and bam! Problem solved 🎉🎉
Not only was my nice cream super delicious, but it was scary easy to make and also filled me up and gave me a boost of energy. Bananas are referred to as the perfect food by many nutritionists because of their nutritional properties and they are known to be a great pre or post workout snack too. Yay bananas!
This Delicious One Ingredient Banana Nice Cream really has an ice cream like consistency – smooth and creamy. You don’t need an ice cream maker which is a plus, and you only need one ingredient – you guessed it… 🍌🍌 But you can get creative and include whatever add ins and toppings you like. Just make sure they’ll jive with the banana flavor.
To make one serving of nice cream take two ripe bananas, peel them, and slice into even pieces. Put them in a covered container or ziploc bag and store in the freezer for at least 4 hours. Once they’re frozen, take them out and put in a food processor. A blender should work as well, but I recommend a food processor. Blend until the bananas turn into a creamy mixture, which should only take about 30 seconds – 1 minute. At this point, you can pour any add ins to the mixture. I tossed about 1/2 tsp of ground cinnamon and a handful of semisweet chocolate chips. Blend for a few more seconds and voila! You’ve got Delicious One Ingredient Banana Nice Cream 🍌🍦🍌 🍦
Ideas for Add ins/Toppings: cocoa powder, peanut butter, nuts (pecans, almonds, etc), Oreo pieces, strawberries, blueberries, coconut shreds, Dandie’s marshmallows, sprinkles, cocoa nibs, date syrup.
2 bananas makes about 1 serving, but you can use as many bananas as you like and make enough for your entire family or group of friends. It’s raw, vegan, cruelty free (the “nice” in nice cream), and completely delicious and satisfying. I eat it for a snack in the afternoon when I get that late day lull, but it would make a nice breakfast treat or dessert, too.
Btw, the lovely props in the photos come straight from my best friend’s yard. Roses and King Oranges – yes, those lime looking things are oranges!
